Breast Lift with Implants

Breast ptosis (sagging) and the appearance of flat, stretched out contours often go hand in hand. With weight fluctuations, pregnancy, and the natural aging process in general, most women notice a loss of firmness, volume, and projection in the chest over time. A breast lift with implants can be an elegant solution to these concerns. Dr. Garlick, our Utah board-certified and fellowship-trained plastic surgeon, can combine breast implants with mastopexy to provide the benefits of both breast augmentation and a breast lift in the same surgical plan.

Is a Breast Lift with Implants Right for Me?

A breast lift with implants, also called “breast augmentation-mastopexy,” can be an excellent treatment for women who would like to improve the appearance of flat, stretched breast contours and sagging (ptosis) simultaneously. While Dr. Garlick can assess your candidacy for the procedure in person, a breast lift with implants is most successful for patients who:

  • Would like larger breasts in conjunction with more projected, youthful contours
  • Are non-smokers and in good general health
  • Have a strong understanding of the procedure and can maintain realistic expectations for the final results
  • Do not plan to get pregnant or undergo significant weight loss in the future

In general, a combined breast lift with implants procedure can be more cost-effective and convenient than pursuing a breast augmentation and mastopexy separately. Alternatively, the combined surgery can also be added to a larger Mommy Makeover, which is designed to reverse pregnancy-related changes on the breasts and body.

How is the Breast Lift with Implants Procedure Performed?

During a breast lift with implants, the “breast lift” portion of the procedure is generally performed before implant placement. For certain patients, the best results may be achieved when the procedure is completed in different stages rather than the same surgery — this depends on the unique details of each person’s treatment plan. In general, Dr. Garlick will remove excess tissue causing an elongated look and reshape the breasts. Saline or silicone breast implants will then be positioned under or over the pectoral muscles, providing more voluminous and youthful breast contours.

What Can I Expect During the Breast Lift with Implants Recovery Period?

Recovery after breast augmentation-mastopexy typically requires one to two weeks of downtime before patients can return to work again. This depends on the nature of your job, but many individuals return to non-strenuous office work relatively quickly. Swelling, bruising, aching, and tenderness should all resolve on their own as you continue to heal, but over-the-counter medications are usually enough to manage any discomfort. We encourage patients to wear their surgical garments for the amount of time instructed by Dr. Garlick to minimize swelling and help facilitate their new breast contours.

How Much Does a Breast Lift with Implants Cost?

A breast lift with implants in Utah is often more affordable when compared to other regions of the country. While cost estimates are tailored for each patient, factors that generally influence your personalized quote include the cost of the breast implants themselves, the extent of sagging experienced, the surgical techniques utilized, and your overall goals. Expenses normally associated with cosmetic surgery, such as the anesthesia fee, surgeon’s fee, lab tests, and similar costs, will also be included in your total cost estimate.

Our practice would be happy to discuss the cost of your procedure after your needs are evaluated in a consultation. Plastic surgery financing options are also available for qualified patients who would like to pay for their breast augmentation-mastopexy over time.

A breast lift with implants melds the benefits of both breast augmentation and mastopexy to give patients the fuller, “lifted,” and more shapely breasts they desire.
